In a ceremony at the Morton Myerson Symphony Center, Business
Interiors, located in Irving, Texas, was once again awarded the
Women's Business Enterprise of the Year for 2007. The award is for
female-owned businesses in a four state region.
''This was quite a surprise to us as there has never before been a
company win three times or in ''back to back'' years,'' says Sally
Smith, VP Sales and Marketing for Business Interiors.
''Corporate sustaining members (from organizations such as Frito
Lay, Lockheed, Exxon Mobile, etc.) nominate you. All nominees
then respond to a questionnaire regarding best practices, company
culture, processes, and challenges. Responses are submitted with
no company/owner names and are then sent to three judges who
are prominent business leaders in the region. The responses are
judged independently and not even the judges know who the
winners are."
Smith added, "We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award!''
